Maria Ochoa is a writer who teaches at San Jose State Univeristy in the Department of Social Science/Women's Studies Program. Maria's latest publications include Creative Collectives: Chicana Artists Working in Community She recently concluded an oral history project, funded by the Creative Work Fund, that focuses on the stories of Mexicans and African Americans, who between 1930 and 1960 lived in the rual town of Russell City, California. Maria was a contributor to the reference books, Women in Science Fiction and Fantasy and co-founded the Research Cluster for Study of Women of colour at UC Santa Cruz.Barbara K. Ige is the NSF Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (NSF AGEP) Program Director for the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in Graduate Division at the University of California, Los Angeles. In every stage of her academic career, she has an continues to devote herself full time to diversifying the student population in higher education. She is a former faculty member in the Department of English at the University of Hawai'i, Manoa. Barbara is well regarded for her challenging and entertaining classes and mentorship of underrepresented students.
